In order to perform the action, you must first increase the auger's store of compressed aether by gathering as a miner or botanist. When you have enough compressed aether, you may expend it to unleash a powerful attack against an enemy. Enemies defeated using the auger are known to yield a wealth of resources. Adjustments are made to experience point gain for each item gathered. To a certain degree, even low-level items will grant experience points appropriate to the player's current level.

Flotpassant in the Firmament X Upon inspection, skybuilders' scrips are awarded according to the number of items and their type. Inspected items can also be used in Ishgardian Restoration crafting recipes or sold on the market. Supplies can be delivered to Potkin in the Firmament X Every item contributed adds to the stockpile.

The restoration status of all Worlds can be viewed at the Builders' Progress Report page below. At the conclusion of the Firmament's reconstruction, ranking results from all crafters were tallied based on class. A monument was then built in honor of the crafting class in each World with the highest combined score, modeled after the crafting tool used by said class.

Crafters submitting items to the Ishgardian Restoration can participate in the Kupo of Fortune. The Kupo of Fortune is a game of chance that can be played by delivering certain items to Potkin in the Firmament X Once you have collected five stamps, you may exchange the voucher for a Kupo of Fortune card.

Phase 3 of the beta began on June 14th and was the first test where the PS3 version could be played. The phase brought about the regions of Thanalan and La Noscea as well as new dungeons, more quests and the ability to import your version 1 character if you have one. Progress is not saved during phase 3. Phase 4 of the beta is an open beta and will officially begin on August 17th , with phase 3 testers given access on August 16th. The phase will last until August 19 and this will mark the end of the beta.

Following on from that will be Early Access on August 23rd and release day on August 27th. You can submit an application at either the North American or European beta websites depending on your location. There are a few things to note however:. The above is a screenshot from the roadmap PDF that can be found here.

The main things to note from the PDF are that:. Phase 1 of the beta begins in mid-February and will last weeks. The purpose of this test is for core systems rebalancing and this includes testing part of the main scenario, sidequests, class quests, FATE Full Active Time Event , behests, dungeons, cutscenes, hunting logs, player search, markets and item search, and full damage testing.

There will be worlds available and players can select from all races and genders. A level cap of 35 will be in place. Phase 2 begins weeks after phase 1 ends and will last weeks. The purpose of this test is for gamepad controls. However there will be more content to test too such as the Grand Companies, private chocobos, more quests and more FATE events. There will be an extra 5 worlds available for this test. Phase 3 begins weeks after phase 1 ends and will last weeks.

The new phase also adds a bunch of extra content for testers to explore, and also marks the expiration of non-disclosure agreements regarding the beta, which means those involved are actually allowed to talk about it now, too.

Once the four Phase 3 tests have been carried out, the game will enter into open beta ahead of the August release date, and hopefully by then it will be ready to go. The first test runs over this weekend and I'm going to be spending some time playing - watch this space for some first impressions.
